Wilkinson Aftercare Program

Wilkinson Aftercare offers a nurturing and engaging environment where children thrive through fun, enriching activities.

Our program is designed around student-centered learning, creating a connection between school and home. We provide a positive space for children to unwind, explore, and grow. Our program welcomes both Wilkinson families and El Granada families.

Each day, Wilkinson staff members pick up El Granada Elementary students based on the CUSD dismissal schedule. The children then walk along the scenic coastal trail to our facility, where they join a variety of enriching afternoon classes. Afterward, both Wilkinson Aftercare and El Granada students come together to enjoy the remainder of the afternoon, fostering community and connection.

Wilkinson School: M-TH 3:30pm - 6pm, Fridays and minimum days 1:50pm-6pm

El Granada School: Dismissal bell-6pm, (following, early release, minimum days, and super Fridays)

**Wilkinson students not picked up by the start of aftercare will be automatically enrolled and will incur a fee.

Aftercare Rates

Wilkinson School’s Aftercare Program provides a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students at the end of the school day. Because aftercare enrollment is limited and shared across Wilkinson School and El Granada students, we follow a structured and transparent enrollment process that prioritizes continuity for families while ensuring equitable access for our community.

PROGRAM CAPACITY

Aftercare enrollment is limited. Once capacity is reached, additional students will be placed on a waitlist. 

ENROLLMENT TIMELINE & PRIORITY

Aftercare enrollment takes place in phases. Enrollment dates and expectations are shared in advance to support clear planning for families. In addition, due to aftercare enrollment starting the Spring prior to the upcoming school year we do set aside a small number of spaces for prospective Wilkinson School families. Once the school year starts any un-used spaces will be released to the families on the waitlist first then the public.

PHASE 1: RETURNING AFTERCARE FAMILIES (Updated Dates)

Phase 1: March 2, 2026 - March 15, 2026

Priority is given to families who are currently enrolled in Wilkinson Aftercare during the spring term.

Priority order within Phase 1:

  • Students currently enrolled in aftercare

  • Siblings of currently enrolled aftercare students

  • Current and new fulltime Wilkinson Families and siblings

Returning families must complete enrollment during this window to secure a spot. Enrollment does not automatically roll over from year to year.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% one month’s fee is due at the time of enrollment to hold an aftercare space.

PHASE 2: NEW FAMILIES WITH PRIOR INTEREST (Updated Dates)

Phase 2: March 16, 2026 - March 31, 2026

If space remains after Phase 1, enrollment will open to families who have previously expressed interest in aftercare.

Priority order within Phase 2:

  • Families on the waitlist for the current afterschool program (school year)

  • Families on the inquiry list for the upcoming afterschool program (school year)

Enrollment offers during this phase may be time-limited. Families who do not respond within the stated timeframe may forfeit their offer. A non-refundable deposit of 50% one month’s fee is due at the time of enrollment to hold an aftercare space.

PHASE 3: GENERAL ENROLLMENT (Updated Dates)

Phase 3 opens: April 1, 2026

Enrollment offers during this phase may be time-limited. Families who do not respond within the stated timeframe may forfeit their offer. A non-refundable deposit of 50% one month’s fee is due at the time of enrollment to hold an aftercare space.

*Once daily capacity is reached, families will be placed on a waitlist.

SIBLING PRIORITY

Priority is given to siblings of students currently enrolled in Wilkinson Aftercare and siblings of students enrolled at Wilkinson School.

WAITLIST PROCEDURES

Wilkinson School maintains one centralized waitlist for both aftercare programs. Placement on the waitlist is determined by enrollment phase, sibling status, and date of request. Families will be notified as spaces become available.

ENROLLMENT COMMITMENT & DEPOSITS

A non-refundable deposit of 50% one month fee is required at the time of enrollment and is applied towards the last month of enrollment, if withdrawal procedures as written in the enrollment contract are followed. For families that remain the entire school year the deposit will be applied towards your May and June invoice.

SCHEDULE CHANGES & FLEXIBILITY

Families may request changes to enrolled days based on availability. Requests for additional days will be considered after all enrolled families’ schedules are finalized. Limited drop-in care may be offered once core enrollment is complete and staffing allows.

PROCEDURE REVIEW

This procedure is reviewed annually and may be adjusted to reflect program capacity, staffing, and the evolving needs of the Wilkinson community.
